Sailing around the Cyclades islands is a unique experience, for both the exotic landscape of dry land and shiny rocks, as well as the sailing conditions, which can become quite challenging through out the year, especially in summer months.
The route starts from Naoussa, the northern marina of Paros, but it makes little difference if you chose the main port of Paros, Paroikia. It includes the islands of smaller distance, such as Antiparos, Koufonissi and the Small Cyclades, as well as the wonderful islands of Ios and Amorgos. The trip is considered of medium difficulty. The Cyclades are affected by northern strong winds through out summer (exception is the months of May and June), a fact that increases the difficulty of any sailing cruise in this region. However, the selected islands are close to Paros, and the elements are milder, especially in the Minor Cyclades (sailing to Amorgos can be much tougher; Ios is not so far from Iraklia and Schoinoussa.
The type of holidays in these islands can also differ depending on your preferences. You can visit the busy ports and enjoy a vivid vacation with bars and cosmopolitan life, or you can choose the serene coves, away from the busy life of these distant, but still popular islands.
