Meet the Instructor

Her love for classical and modern dance started at the age of 3 years old, studying at Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) and Imperial Society Teacher of Dance (ISTD). Later, Tania evolved to professional dancer and instructor.
On her way, her intellect and restless personality led her to the path of Yoga, where she found new ways of physical and spiritual expression. Her deeper knowledge in the art of yoga stem from her studies on the system of Yogaworks (500h YAI), a unique teaching system inspired from the flow of Ashtanga, the aligning of Iyengar and the healing results of viny yoga.
One of her career highlights was her trip to India; Tania followed there yoga lessons from enlightened yoga instructors.
Tania teaches ballet, modern dance, Yoga, Yoga Nidra, Pilates mat, while she organizes workshops yoga and yoga Nidra in various venues (e.g. yoga studios, salt caves, etc.) She has also created the training session Yoga Nidra Teacher Training in BFS Academy, transferring her knowledge to developing Yoga Nidra trainers.
Her teaching practice is considered safe for all, due to the alignment that she uses and her experience with the props (bricks, belts, blankets, etc.). Tania has an increased sense of care for all her students, as her program is surrounded by her calm voice, resulting to classes with multiple effects on the participants.
Hatha Yoga
Hatha Yoga is the system that composed the base, upon which evolved all the other yoga systems. Hatha Yoga is a complete training form, which combines, in full harmony, the practice of both body and mind. Through a long series of asanas (dynamic poses of the body), pranayama (breathing techniques) and meditation, it improves and restores our health, decreases anxiety, protects the body from aging; it strengthens and beautifies it.
Main characteristic of Hatha Yoga is the persistence at the same asana for a relatively long period of time, uniting breathing with the motion, and offers to the practitioner the opportunity to deepen at the position, to feel the exercise and its benefit to the body. In this way, the body increases temperature and sweating helps to eliminate the toxins.
Vinyasa Yoga
Vinyasa Yoga is a more dynamic form of yoga. Specifically, the courses are composed of exercises (asanas) which are performed with continuous flow, combined with breathing control. Emphasis is given at the transition between the poses, increasing the intensity and the energy. The variety of the exercises improves the attention of the practitioners, and the coordination between motion and breathing creates a mediating practice.
The benefits of vinyasa yoga are multiple; it increases stamina and balance, activates concurrently different muscle groups, and strengthens the whole body. Through the increase of temperature and sweating, it allows to eliminate the toxins, increases the heartbeat, hence stimulates the blood circulation and the health of heart. Vinyasa yoga contributes to improve the level of concentration and reduces the stress.
Meditation
Meditation is a form of mental concentration, achieved through deep relaxation, removal of any thought and external interruptions from the consciousness of the practitioner. Through meditation techniques, the goal is to stabilize the busy and superfluent mind and achieve its absolute relaxation. Such techniques include the mindfulness meditation, Yoga Nidra, chakras meditation, etc.

Accommodation
We offer two alternative yacht types for your yoga cruise: monohull yachts and catamarans
- Monohull sailing yachts have smaller spaces than catamarans but cost less, and the actual sailing performance is superior on a monohull than a catamaran. Monohull sailing yachts have a variable number of cabins / WC, so they can accommodate a different number of guests. Cabins are double, so two persons usually share one cabin, while the number of WC also varies, depending on the size of the yacht. The yachts (both monohull and catamarans) have a fully equipped kitchen (called galley in the sailing jargon), where meals are prepared. The saloon is the only common space under the deck, while usually people enjoy meals on the outer deck, or cockpit area. The space on a monohull is limited, so groups of people practice yoga exclusively ashore, like on sandy, secluded beaches.
In the standard packages that we propose, monohull yachts are crewed with skipper and yoga instructor, but there is no hostess / cook to take care of the meals, so that accommodation space is saved, and the total cost of the cruise remains lower. However, you can opt to hire a hostess or cook on a sailing yacht as well, if you wish.
- Catamarans are more comfortable than monohull sailing yachts, both over and under the deck. There are several flat surfaces for sun bathing, relaxing, or yoga for small groups, the cabins and other spaces under the deck are comfortable for two persons. Typically, there are 4 double cabins en suite on catamarans (6 max), while there are 1 or 2 cabins for the crew, with separate facilities. As we propose to hire a skipper, yoga instructor and a cook when sailing on a catamaran, the crew might utilize one of the double cabins, or the third crew member sleeps in the saloon; arrangement takes place before the trip, depending on the number of persons, size of the yacht, etc.

The yoga practice takes place in the beach, near Cape Sounion. After your return to the yacht and a light lunch, start the trip to Kithnos island; Kithnos is famous for the golden, sandy beaches. The destination is the cove of Kolona, one of the most spectacular spots in the Cyclades islands. Enjoy swimming and relaxing and later in the afternoon head to the port. During sunset you can follow the meditation course, while you can enjoy a walk to a serene location, for the ideal location of the meditation course. Alternatively, in the evening you can visit one of the picturesque villages of Kithnos, up on the hills of the island Day 3: Sifnos island Early in the morning, the yacht heads to one of the calm coves for the yoga practice, and after breakfast, you sail to the island of Sifnos. This is a special island, with beautiful inner land and several alternative locations to berth at night. The first evening, you visit the traditional port of Kamares. The port is small, and there is a long, sandy beach in the cove of the port, where you can enjoy your evening meditation course. In the evening, you can visit Apollonia, the main village of Sifnos, located uphill, and enjoy the traditional, Cycladic architecture, as well as try the famous, local cuisine of the island. Day 4: Explore Sifnos The next day, we sail off the port, toward a serene cove of the island. There, you can enjoy swimming and the morning yoga practice. Later in the day, the yacht visits the bay of Vathi, a picturesque cove to spend the night. Day 5: Serifos island Start early in the day to visit Serifos, the small island near Sifnos. Firstly, anchor in the south cove of Koutalas, with peaceful spots for the morning yoga practice. After swimming, head to the port of Serifos, Livadi. It is worth visiting also the small village uphill, for drinks and dinner. The round view to the endless blue, from the village, is one of the highlights of the trip Day 6: Kea island Early in the day, visit one of the small coves near the port for the morning yoga practice. Then sail upnorth, to the island of Kea. We make the first stop in the southern coves of the Kea, for some swimming and relaxing. The last night of the trip before the return to Athens, you can choose if you wish to spend in the port of the island, or in a cove, staying on anchor. Athens - Sounion - Poros - Dokos - Spetses - Hinitsa - Hydra Day 1: Start from Alimos marina Stay the night: Cape Sounion, Temple of Poseidon The yacht leaves the main marina in the afternoon, after 17:00 pm, depending also on your arrival time to the marina. The route to Cape Sounion takes 3-4 hours. The yacht anchors in the bay, under the spectacular ancient Poseidon Temple, which is lit at night. On the first day, you enjoy a meditation course during the trip or upon arrival, depending on weather conditions, time of arrival, etc.) Day 2: Poros island The day starts with a morning yoga practice in the beach, near the Temple of Poseidon. After breakfast, you sail to Poros island, a trip of 4-5 hours. Poros combines both picturesque, natural bays for swimming and relaxing, as well as a traditional town worth visiting. After a swim in the bays of Poros, head to the port for a relaxing afternoon. The port is large and always, walking by the pier is a pleasant and interesting activity in the afternoon. The meditation course takes place at sunset and then you can enjoy dinner by the port. Day 3: Dokos island After a relaxing breakfast in Poros, start the trip to the next destination, the islet of Dokos. This is an unihabited small islet, offering a beautiful calmness thanks to the unspoiled natural environment. The bay of the islet, protecting from most wind directions is so large that yachts can anchor away from each other, enjoying the privacy and the quiet of the place. You can enjoy both the vinyasa practice and meditation in this ideal environment. Our advice is to spend the night also on free anchor, gazing at the stars and absorbing the unique feeling of undestructed nature. However, if you wish to visit a port for the evening, the large port of Ermioni is nearby, where you can have dinner in the family taverns by the dock. Day 4: Spetses island Start the next day with a yoga practice in the quiet beach. Enjoy a swim and breakfast and then head to the cosmopolitan island of Spetses. Enjoy the historic port and its buildings, mostly the aristocratic houses of previous centuries, or newer which nevertheless preserve the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the island. In the evening, after the meditation course you can enjoy dinner in the port, as well as the vivid nightlife on the island. Day 5: Hinitsa island The next day is calm, as the sailing distance is small. Leaving the port early offers a full day in the sea, relaxing and having fun. We visit one or two swimming spots around the island, where you also enjoy the yoga practice and meditation. There are various alternatives for the night. The best option is to sail to the nearby islet of Hinitsa, located next to Spetses and close to the mainland. Alternatively, depending also on the weather conditions, the southern coast of Spetses offers marvelous coves for staying on free anchor overnight. Whatever the final spot, this is another great opportunity to relax within a beautiful natural environment. In case of strong winds in the area, prohibiting the opportunity to stay the night on free anchor away from the port, we leave that day for Hydra, and the next day find shelter in the islands of Aegina or Agkistri, usually with calmer winds and safer spots for the night. Day 6: Hydra island Hydra is probably the most memorable destination of the whole trip, so it makes sense to keep it for last. The historic island has a magnificent port, and the town develops on the hills around it, offering an unparalleled experience to every visitor. It is important to arrive to the port early morning in order to secure a spot, but the day there definetely is worth any trouble. Walk after the port to find a suitable location to practice yoga and spend the day wondering in the traditional alleys of the small town surrounding the port. Day 7: Return to the home port On the last day of the trip, first enjoy a relaxing breakfast in Hydra and then sail toward Athens. On the way you have a stop for swim and some yoga practice in Aegina island. The boat returns to the home port by 6 in the afternoon, and later you can enjoy the evening visiting Athens City Center. Disembarkation takes place the next day, by 9 am.
