This August our guests spent their sailing honeymoon on the Beneteau Oceanis 50, with their own Skipper and Hostess enjoying the facilities of a luxury yacht and cabin with en-suite. Read below the specially designed itinerary..
Day 1 - Anchored in Kalami Bay, East Coast of Corfu
Our Honeymoon couple after their Wedding in Corfu Town were enjoying their wedding reception in the ‘Durrell’ White House, Kalami. On our arrival we did a ‘sail past’ the restaurant playing the “Scottish” pipes and drum version of ‘Amazing Grace’ with “Just Married” hanging from the stern. We anchored in the bay so that after the Firework display and wedding reception they would board the Yacht to spend their Honeymoon evening under the stars.
Day 2 - Panorama Restaurant, just south of Petitri
We set sail the following morning from Kalami passing Agni bay and anchored just before the Nasaki Beach Hotel where there is the smallest Orthodox church on Corfu to visit and a hidden cave. Then across the large bay towards Corfu Town and around it looking at all the historic buildings from the yacht only 50m away including the castle. Heading South down the coast, past Benitses stopping for lunch and a swim at a beautiful spot on the way, & then sailed down past Petitri, to the beautiful spot of the Panorama restaurant and anchored for the night.
Day 3 - Mourtos (Sivota)
We headed off the following morning after breakfast and a swim in the beautiful waters to Mourtos, Sivota.
We went stern to on the quayside, it is a lovely village town with just enough hustle and bustle, shops and restaurants to keep you entertained and also a nice selection of bays and beaches for that quick dip if you fancy. The sunset here is truly amazing, especially if you are on your honeymoon drinking champagne in the cockpit.
Day 4 - Lakka, Paxos Island
We left Mourtos early the next morning, after a quick visit to the local bakery for hot croissants before the guests were up, so when they woke they were in a secluded bay and all ready for an early morning dip and breakfast. We then set sail for Lakka, on Paxos which is an Island that can only be visited by boat with an absolutely beautiful bay with blue waters and a lovely anchorage, all the shops and restaurants are only a couple of minutes away in the dinghy.
Day 5 - Mongonisi, Paxos
We left Lakka around lunchtime, to allow the guests to have breakfast and swim in the blue waters of Lakka Bay in the morning, We headed for Mongonisi by going round the West Coast of Paxos, where we stopped at the huge caves which is an amazing spot for exploring the caves, snorkelling and swimming. Once in Mongonisi you can enjoy swimming, the beach and just lazing around on the Yacht. We enjoyed a BBQ that evening aboard the Yacht.
Day 6 - Gaios, Paxos
To guarantee a premium spot in Gaios, the main town of Paxos, we did a short trip up the coast and got a great spot on the town quayside, perfect for watching all the goings on in the harbour and along the town promenade. This is a beautiful little town, with lots of boutique shops, lots of great restaurants and a few beaches within walking distance. This is probably our clients most ‘favourite place’ to be. A great evening, with a fantastic meal and excellent service was had in the ‘Genesis Restaurant’ situated at the south entrance with an elevated vantage view of the bay and town of Gaios.
Day 7 - Benitses
Had a great sail on our last day up to Benitses, stopping near Lefkimi for lunch aboard the Yacht. The evening was spent enjoying a bottle of bubbly at ‘sundown’ before getting ready for a night in Benitses. It is a lovely village with lovely waters and beaches and again with lots of good restaurant and shops to enjoy during the evening.
Day 8 - Check-out at Gouvia Marina
Experience something different and make you HONEYMOON truly special…
