Racing on a sailing yacht in the Greek Waters is a fascinating and challenging experience.

The Aegean Rally is the most famous sailing race in Greece. It is organized successfully since 1963 and concentrates the attention of sailors from Europe and beyond. Because of the distances and rough sailing conditions in that time of the year, it is certainly a difficult race. The offshore races take place every second day; in the free day there are local events and inshore races organized in each island of visit.

International Offshore Cyclades Regatta - Sail in Greek Waters

  • Race duration: 1 week in early July
  • Area: Cyclades islands
  • Total distance: 150-200 nautical miles

This is the one of the most famous and popular sailing races in Greece, with international participation. The conditions vary, depending on the wind speed or the time of the year. The beginning of July is considered relatively early for the strong north winds (meltemi).The islands visited are magnificent while the race schedule covers a leg every second day, combining sailing challenges and memorable events in each island.

  • Race duration: 5-7 days
  • Total distance: Variable every year
  • Area: Also variable every year, in the regions of Northern Sporades, Dodecanese and Cyclades islands

Aegean Regatta is a challenging sailing race, since it has two long legs,while the schedule includes a race every day. The winds are usually strong at this time of the year, with the north winds prevailing. However, the race is mostly downwind, which adds to pleasure without a lot of hard time.
